Gilles A. Bussutil is an international aviation and customer experience executive currently serving as Vice President of Inflight Experience at Frontier Airlines. In this role, he oversees inflight experience strategy and operations, inflight training and standards, catering and onboard retail, product development, data analytics, and flight attendant engagement. He is also in charge of the companywide cultural transformation. His work focuses on elevating safety, operational reliability, employee culture, and the customer experience across the airline’s frontline operation.
Gilles’ career began on the frontline as a Flight Attendant with various airlines such as Air Caraïbes, Air France, and easyJet, where he later held roles in training, recruitment, and operational leadership. He then expanded his customer experience expertise in the luxury hospitality sector with Qatar Airways and The Leading Hotels of the World in New York and Airport Dimensions (where he led the development and roll out of the Chase Sapphire Lounges), further shaping his perspective on premium service, brand consistency, and emotional customer connection. This combination of operational, hospitality, and brand experience has given him a distinctive ability to connect strategy with frontline execution.
Originally from the French Caribbean island of Guadeloupe, by way of Paris, Doha, Cyprus, NYC and now based in Denver, Gilles brings a global perspective to leadership, culture, and customer experience. He holds an Executive MBA from HEC Paris and is passionate about building organizations where employees feel inspired, customers feel cared for, and brands create lasting impact. Outside of work, he enjoys travel, art, opera, antiques, cycling, nature, and discovering new cultures.
