Crawford Burden is with the global engineering consultancy AECOM, responsible for their aviation strategy and business development activities in the Europe and India regions, working to win, plan, design, build and manage top-tier airport projects around the world with the vision to be the industry leader in the Aviation market.

Prior to AECOM Crawford has held various senior positions with Arcadis, Arup and AviaSolutions, advising airport owners, financial investors and governments on airport investment and divestment strategies around the world, combining a passion for the aviation industry with a corporate finance background with Deutsche Bank’s transport corporate finance team, and three years in the corporate strategy team at Manchester Airport’s Group.

Highlights from his career to date include winning the role to advise on the development of the preliminary design for the new Lisbon Airport, advising Ferrovial Airports on its successful acquisition of a stake in JFK’s New Terminal One project, and advising on the sale of Kansai and Itami airports in Japan, the largest and first 100% sale of an airport group in Japan.

Married with three daughters, Crawford is a keen rower, the current Captain of Bewl Bridge Rowing Club, and a regular competitor at a senior level. He is also a Non-executive Director at Heathrow Southern Rail, a private entity seeking to develop a southern rail link into Heathrow airport via private capital.
