Lukas Durdina is an internationally recognized aviation emissions expert, sustainability advisor, and research leader specializing in the environmental impact of air transportation. With more than a decade of experience in aviation emissions analytics, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), and environmental standards development, Lukas has become a leading voice in helping the aviation industry navigate the transition toward a lower-carbon future. He is the Founder and Principal Consultant of GreenLet Research, a consultancy focused on providing science-based solutions and strategic insight related to aviation emissions, SAF implementation, and environmental compliance. His expertise spans non-CO₂ aviation emissions, engine performance modeling, particulate matter emissions, aviation fuels, and sustainability-focused regulatory strategy.

Throughout his career, Lukas has worked closely with airlines, regulators, research institutions, aircraft and engine manufacturers, and sustainability organizations to advance innovation in aviation environmental performance. His research and technical leadership have contributed to the development of international emissions measurement standards and improved scientific understanding of aviation’s climate and air quality impacts. Lukas has led and participated in numerous influential studies on aircraft engine particulate emissions, contrail formation, and sustainable aviation fuels, with his work frequently cited within both academic and industry communities. His collaborations with organizations such as SR Technics, ZHAW Zurich University of Applied Sciences, and international regulatory bodies have helped shape emerging environmental standards for aircraft engine emissions and non-volatile particulate matter (nvPM).

Beyond his technical and research accomplishments, Lukas is recognized for his ability to communicate complex scientific and environmental topics in a practical and accessible way for industry stakeholders. He remains actively involved in global discussions surrounding aviation sustainability, SAF adoption, contrail mitigation, and non-CO₂ climate effects. Through his consulting work, public speaking, technical publications, and industry collaboration, Lukas continues to support the aviation sector in developing innovative, data-driven approaches that balance operational performance with environmental responsibility.
