Francis Walker

Founder, Architect, ConOps

Francis is a multi-faceted Architect with 30 years of international experience covering the spectrum from business development to project delivery. Francis has experience in multi-sector infrastructure, boutique destination architecture and future modalities. Francis has led large design teams on visionary masterplan designs for King Salman International Airport in Riyadh, NEOM International Airport and Kuching Future Port in Malaysia. He has worked closely with Virgin Atlantic Airways on strategic growth initiatives and future passenger experience. At Washington DC Francis created the concept design for the winning submission for the new VIP Terminal at Dulles IAD. In Asia, he delivered the design for Changi Terminal 4 and the expansion of Hong Kong International Airport Terminal 1. With a passion for creating and delivering designs that can transform lives, Francis is an advocate for advancement through integrated networks of spaceports, airports and vertiports – the ‘anchors’ of future cities in the built environment.

Francis is at his best leading a diverse group of talents to deliver innovative designs at any scale while fostering a positive, motivational atmosphere. With 30 years of experience he takes his role as mentor very seriously and a mentor, always seeking to educate and nurture talent. He deeply enjoys both technical and creative challenges, always striving to find the optimum solutions which combine vision and viability. Francis understands complex infrastructure projects. With knowledge and participation in the development of emerging modalities he aspires to shape a sustainable vision for a bright future. Francis can draw on experience in Metro and Rail projects for Terry Farrell in Hong Kong, retail and destination projects for Benoy in Asia, commercial developments with Gensler in Asia and USA, and Aviation projects globally with Corgan. By bringing all this experience together in one project he can help to create and deliver 21st century transport oriented developments for the world stage.

Francis gained his Honours Degree and Diploma in Architecture from the Mackintosh School of Architecture at Glasgow School of Art. His creative energies extend to music and painting; his early soundtrack work gained recognition from BAFTA and holds a UCLA Certificate in Film Scoring. He has exhibited artwork in Hong Kong and contributes design concept art to projects regularly. Francis has presented his original work on Spaceports and Integrated Air Mobility at PTE Conferences and continues to advocate for infrastructure with long term strategies embedded in the design.
